Simonis Etienne
Information
- Description
- The Etienne Simonis estate comprises around twenty parcels covering a total area of 7 hectares. Katia and Etienne Simonis, as a couple, manage this vineyard located in Ammerschwihr, near Colmar in Alsace, which has been converted to biodynamic farming for 25 years. Production ranges between 35,000 and 40,000 bottles per year. Their goal is to highlight the richness of Alsatian terroirs through meticulous work, akin to that of a skilled artisan.
In the vineyard, we focus on the natural balance of the plants and choose to maintain low yields. In the cellar, we embrace natural winemaking using indigenous yeasts, without oenological additives, and with limited amounts of sulfites. We are fortunate to cultivate two Grand Cru vineyards: Kaefferkopf and Marckrain.
Our range features 25 different wines: on one side, vibrant and mineral terroir wines; on the other, original and unconventional cuvées, including six blends, blanc de noirs, and skin-contact wines.
