Château Cedrus
Information
- Description
- Château CEDRUS is located in Mormoiron, a Provençal village located at the foot of Mont Ventoux in Vaucluse. The territory of Mormoiron conceals great mineral wealth, the result of a complex geological history. Gypsum, ocher sand, siliceous sand and colored clay: so many soils that we find on the three terroirs of the Château. Three beautiful plots of Grenache and Mourvèdre make up the Mormoiron terroir at an altitude of 245 m on clay-limestone soil. The Crillon terroir is made up of several terraces of Grenache blanc, Grenache Rose, Grenache noir, Syrah, Cinsault and Viognier between 350 and 370 m altitude on sandstone, limestone and clay soil. Finally we find deep clay soil on the Mazan terroir, with our Clairettes as well as young Cinsault vines. We benefit from an exceptional microclimate with terroirs at altitude and a significant thermal amplitude allowing great freshness and a beautiful balance in the wines. Mont Ventoux is also recognized as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO: more than 1,500 plant species there are listed.
