Let's take a stroll through the land of schist! Savour the aromas of garrigue, spices and ripe fruit in your glass. Our Faugères terroir produces wines of character, combining power and elegance while preserving the freshness of the fruit. After a long career in printing, driven by my love for wine and nature, I founded the Domaine de Monthélys in early 2018 and committed to an organic approach from the very beginning. At 300 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Haut Languedoc Regional Park, I cultivate 5 hectares in this magnificent terroir where the dominant schist imparts the unique character of Faugères wines. It is said that Faugères wines are known for their elegant tannins! The harvest is done by hand, and all vinifications take place in stainless steel vats to preserve the identity of the grape varieties, as I am not fond of wines aged in barrels. Here, yields are quite low, averaging 25 hectoliters per hectare. For the red wines, I have developed a range with distinct profiles, tailored to specific tasting moments and food and wine pairings
