DOMAINE Lumian

Description: Located in the terroir of Valréas, the Domaine de Lumian covers 35 hectares. A cool subsoil and an altitude ranging from 210m to 260m for the hillsides make this terroir one of the latest in the appellation, allowing for optimal phenolic maturity without reaching excessively high alcohol levels.
Since 1999, it has been committed to organic farming.
The wines produced are mostly reds (70%), supplemented by rosés (20%), and 10% white.
Vinification :
•
Red: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan; traditionalvinification withgrapestomping.
• Rosé: Cinsault and Grenache; low-temperature vinification.
• White: Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Marsanne, and Roussanne; fermentedat lowtemperature.

It was in 1999, after studying oenology, that Caroline Bonnefoy decided to embrace the profession of winemaker. Today, the vineyard covers 45 hectares of vines spread over four different appellations: Valréas, Cru Rasteau, Cru Beaumes de Venise, Ventoux.
Since 2005, Gilles Phétisson has been managing the viticultural part in organic farming, while Caroline dedicates herself to winemaking. Passionate about her craft, Caroline seeks to convey through her bottles the best expression of the soil and the vine
"Organic Winemakers", Gilles Phétisson and Caroline Bonnefoy have been working together since 2005. They vinify their domains separately, "Lumian" for him, "Bonnefoy" for her.
