Château GASQUI

Château GASQUI

Information

Description
Located in the heart of green Provence, Château GASQUI valley extends to the north of the last foothills of the Maures massif.

At an altitude of 280m, it benefits from a privileged natural location: the clay-limestone terraces where the vineyard is located surround Lake Bonne Cougne, a geological sinkhole, hosting endemic flora and fauna of exceptional interest and classified as European natural heritage protected Natura 2000 The thirty hectares of vines are grassed.
Biodynamic vineyard work in 2023: - Silica at bud break, flowering and ripening, in fruit days.
- Preparation 500 (horn dung) at the beginning of spring in root day and waning moon.
- Maria Thun dung compost after the harvest.

The grapes are harvested by hand, the grapes are transported in twenty-kilo boxes to the semi-buried cellar dating from 1898. We carry out gravity vatting to gently accompany the harvest.

The fermentation of the wines takes place thanks to the native yeasts present on the bloom of the grapes. We pay particular attention to minimal use of sulfur. In logical continuity with our philosophy of terroir wines, our winemaking remains minimalist (2 to 3 practices).

The wines of Château GASQUI are divided into two ranges:
CITIUS = fresh wines, aged in stainless steel vats.
TARDIUS = a rigorous choice of plots, gastronomic and long-keeping wines, most of which are aged in wood.
