- Pioneers among pioneers, we set out very early on to make this land a land of biodiversity, in harmony with its natural environment, when only a few artisan winemakers with the same philosophy existed more than 25 years ago.
It was in 1991 that Jean-Louis & Fabienne Mann felt the need to preserve this privileged land. At the time, the estate was divided between two families of cooperative winegrowers and contained around ten hectares of vines, farmed jointly with their parents.
In 1998, the need to produce its own wine became the primary motivation.
For our family, this meant reclaiming the family buildings and the existing vinification cellar. To refresh it and re-equip with more modern vats.
Reusing a site steeped in history in the middle of the historic village of Eguisheim, where the Alsatian art of living was paramount. The presence of vines in the middle of Grands Crus and lieux-dits called for great terroir wines.
In 2009, Sébastien joined his parents on the family estate. Like Jean-Louis & Fabienne, he has a deep respect for nature and the terroir. He is driven by the need to ensure that it expresses itself properly.
After training in biodynamic viticulture, he pampers the vines by scribbling on the soils and feeding them with preparations, and takes a parcel-by-parcel approach in the cellar.
The aim is to promote whites, reds and gourmet sparkling wines that express the terroir, finesse and salinity.
In 2019, the estate will move to a new bioclimatic site. This exceptional location will house the tasting cellar and offer wine tourism. The aim is to offer customers an exceptional experience, reflecting the work that has gone into the estate's wines.
