Vignoble de l'Ecu

Vignoble de l'Ecu

Information

Description
At a time when modern oenology reigns supreme (whether this is a good or bad thing is up to you), we often tend to forget that a great wine is first and foremost created in the vineyard: plowing the soil, controlling yields, debudding, thinning, manual harvesting, and respecting the biotope.
The avant-garde Écu vineyard has been certified organic since 1975 and biodynamic since 1998 (Demeter) across its entire 30 hectares. We have also been Biodyvin certified since 2014.
We have renounced all technological artifice in the cellar in order to break with the trend towards standardization of wines and preserve the link between each of our vintages and a specific terroir and vintage.
Yeast addition, enzyme addition, thermo-vinification, reverse osmosis, and other processes that tend to standardize wines and produce soulless mass-produced wines have no place in our cellars.
It goes without saying, but we wanted to reiterate it here: we make wines, real wines without fuss or excessive embellishment!
As such, we are proud to be part of the “Biodyvin” group of winegrowers, which promotes respect for the terroir and the pursuit of pure wine, without pretense or deception...
The wines from the Écu vineyard are now served at the finest tables around the world. You will find them in many gourmet and bistronomic restaurants run by chefs who love local produce and are committed to quality products.
There is no point looking for our wines in supermarkets, as we refuse to use this distribution channel, which is contrary to our working philosophy... So head to passionate wine merchants who love fine wine and can give you THE advice that will enable you to leave with THE bottle that will give you pleasure.
Out of concern for the environment and in order to further reduce our carbon footprint, all our wines are now bottled in lightweight glass bottles.
