- The Mabileau family has perpetuated a winemaking tradition for over five generations in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, where they have preserved and enriched a unique know-how. Today, Nathalie and Rémy Mabileau oversee a diverse vineyard, rooted not only in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil but also in the prestigious appellations of Bourgueil, Anjou, and Saumur. Some of the oldest vines on the estate, planted in 1947, still bear witness to the passionate work of Rémy’s great-grandfather.
Committed to a nature-respecting vision, we have chosen for nearly twenty years to conduct our entire production using organic farming. This approach was crowned in 2018 with the Biodyvin certification, guaranteeing our commitment to biodynamics. Our vineyards are primarily composed of Cabernet Franc and Chenin, two emblematic grape varieties of the region, which elegantly express the typicity of our terroirs.
In a spirit of innovation and preservation of viticultural heritage, we are also dedicated to reviving historical Loire Valley grape varieties, such as Pineau d’Aunis and Grolleau Noir. Always driven by the desire to explore new horizons, we are now enthusiastically venturing into the cultivation of rarer grape varieties like Trousseau and Savagnin, adding a touch of diversity and originality to our vineyard.
