- Gorgo Winery was founded in 1973 by the Bricolo family and it extends over 53 hectares of
vineyards, all certified organic, on the morainic hills around the village of Custoza, just 20
minutes from the city of Verona and a few kilometres from the south-eastern shore of Lake
Garda.
The production, a total of 750,000 bottles, is concentrated above all on the territory's most
representative appellations: Custoza, Bardolino, Chiaretto, to which are added other productions
from international varieties reinterpreted in a local key and IGT wines from indigenous
vines vinificated in purity.
The hills cultivated here have witnessed centuries of winemaking tradition and are gentle
slopes originating from the retreat of the glaciers that formed Lake Garda. The extremely
varied soil is based on a calcareous substratum that also contains pebbles and polished
stones, gravel, rocks and sand that ensure natural drainage, giving absolute nesse to the
wine.
Harmony, minerality and sapidity are the notes of maximum expression of this terroir, which
the winery brings to each of its bottles, adding great elegance and stylistic clarity.
Sustainability, from the vineyard to the bottle, is an inescapable commitment in the vision of
Roberta, owner of the company, who added organic cultivation method to other choices,
including the use of recycled materials, lightweight glass, the choice of stone for thermal
inertia for the buildings, up to the recent implementation of a photovoltaic system for
complete energy independence.
