Domaine des Grouas
Information
- Description
- The Domaine des Grouas was created in July 2022, at the confluence of Anjou Noir and Anjou Blanc, in Martigné-Briand, Loire Valley, nested in the Layon River loops.
It encompasses 12 hectares of vines, fully certified organic since 2018 and preserves 6 hectares of biodiversity. Our project is based on respecting our environment as a whole and promoting our terroir via a minimalistic approach and low intervention wine making philosophy to produce wines revealing their soil and own emotion.
After an initial career in consulting and digital, Lionel retrained to follow his lifelong desire, to make wine. Graduated with a BTS [2-year higher education diploma] in viticulture & oenology from Marseille, Lionel worked in the Loire valley region in Jasnières appellation for two years at Domaine de Bellivière, then in Anjou at Terre de l’Élu and at Emmanuel Ogereau. Pauline is gradually taking her role on the estate while, for the moment, keeping her position as head of fundraising and communication at the French national sea rescue organization, which is a charity in France.
