- The Estate’s History
Alain Normand, originally from the Nièvre region, settled in the Mâconnais in 1993, managing 13 hectares of vines.
In 2010, the estate expanded significantly with the arrival of Sylvaine and several additional hectares belonging to her family.
Today, 22 hectares of vines are spread across Solutré, Chaintré, Prissé, Igé and La Roche Vineuse.
Together, this couple of winegrowers set out to develop the estate by combining their expertise and know-how, refined over the years.
Through this shared goal, a vision was born: to conquer new markets while respecting the environment in which they work.
A strong emphasis is placed on respect for the terroir, control of production, and the crafting of the most natural wines aged on the lees.
The aim is not to dominate nature, but to accompany it, to help it thrive and bring out its very best. They naturally committed in 2021 to organic certification, which they obtained in 2024 for all their appellations.
With passion, Sylvaine and Alain Normand produce in La Roche Vineuse some of the finest white and red wines of the Mâconnais: Pouilly-Fuissé, Mâcon La Roche Vineuse, and Bourgogne.
A new production and tasting facility was inaugurated in 2019, bringing together all the winemaking stages in one place, thus making the work of the winegrowers more efficient.
The cellar was designed to draw inspiration from the five rocks found in the Mâconnais, paying tribute to the surrounding heritage and the villages where the estate’s wines are produced.
