- Description
- The Domaine de la Ville rouge is located in the heart of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation. Led by Sébastien and Audrey Girard, the estate is entirely organic since 2012 and converted to biodynamie (2015). The vineyard covers 20 hectares spread accross various towns.This large variety of soils provides richness to the wine.
AOP Crozes hermitage :The vines are mainly located in the south of Tain L’hermitage on pebbly terraces from the Rhône river and the Isère river. White Crozes Hermitage are made out of Marsanne and Roussanne whereas reds are madewith Syrah grapes.The reds are very élegant, developing red fruits and spicy notes. the whites, with their gold colors provide a nice balance between richness, flowers, and peach notes.
AOP Saint Joseph : The plot is located on the saint joseph road, in Tournon sur Rhône. The vines are very old and grow on a granitic hillside. The reds are made using Syrah and are both élégant and smooth, expressing spices and blackcurrant notes. The whites are made out of marsanne and Roussanne and are well balanced with autumn fruit notes.
IGP : the vines grow on a clayey slope in Mercurol. White wines from there are very floral. Reds are scrumptious and fruity due to the blending of grapes.
