Clot de l'Oum (domaine du)
Information
- Description
- We are Eddy and Arthur, two brothers. After various experiences in the wine industry and several domains in different French regions, we settled down at the domain Clot de l'Oum in 2021.
The Domain Clot de l'Oum is located in the Fenouillèdes region, between the valleys of the Agly and the Têt, on the first eastern foothills of the Pyrenees. It is a vineyard of 12 ha, whose wines are certified Organic Agriculture since 2003 and produced as naturally as possible, including the biodynamics methods. The hilly soils, mainly granitic, with the presence of schist and gneiss, benefit from the diversity of microclimates and exposures giving each vintage a unique identity. Spread out between 400 and 600m of altitude, the parcels of the domain are essentially made up of old vines. Our organic Roussillon wines are produced exclusively from grapes grown on our estate, the richness of the soil giving them minerality, freshness and tension.
We have reintegrated biodynamic practices into the vineyard, introducing biodynamic preparations into our vineyard calendar. It's an obvious choice for us to preserve the environment and express our high-altitude granite terroir to the full.
Our wines are vinified with indigenous yeasts, without filtration, with only a few doses of sulfites before bottling, nothing else. The wines are aged in patinated foudres to oxygenate and soften the tannins, without being marked by new wood. Our aim is to let the terroir fully express its minerality and freshness. The lunar calendar is an integral part of our cellar work.
