Font des Ormes (domaine de la)

Description: Le Château La Font des Ormes is a 25ha family estate in the commune of Caux in the Hérault region of France.
We have been certified organic since 2016, and biodynamic by Demeter since 2018. We work traditional Languedoc grape varieties on a very special terroir, basalt, as we are located on the lava flow of an ancient volcano.
This rare blend of basalt and Miocene limestone brings freshness, minerality and fine tannins to our wines.

Our range includes a white wine, 100% Terret Bourret vieilles vignes, one of the Languedoc's oldest grape varieties, a parcel over 80 years old, giving us a fresh wine with citrus, verbena and eucalyptus aromas and a full, round mouthfeel. Terres blanches” is a blend of vermentino and grenache gris, with lovely aromas of white-fleshed fruit and our trademark freshness.

As for the reds, the cuvée “Regagnade”, a blend of cinsault and grenache, is acidic and fruity. “La Font de l'Oun”, dominated by marselan, is an “easy-drinking” wine, while our two AOP Languedoc Pézenas cuvées, “Terres Mêlées” (which you tasted in terroir and vintage) and “Basalte”, are distinguished by the expression of their terroirs.
