Pierre’s head is stuffed full of a multitude of absolutely fantastic ideas, and overflowing with love for people in general and the good things in life. 😍 In fact he is bursting with passion for his profession and existence !
Drawing on all of this (and a handful of grapes from the same winegrowing estate that has belonged to his family for eleven generations) Pierre breathes life into everything he touches !
And now, to avoid bottling up too much pressure, Pierre has also chosen to cultivate freedom...
He has chosen to barrel his way forward and concentrate on being his own person and develop his own wines. From now on, he’ll be letting them mature and develop their own personalities. He believes they have what it takes to surprise and unite us.
How ? By daring to trust in all living things as a way of generating and sharing powerful emotions, relationships and love.
In this story, transmission is unquestionably the breeding ground of age-old expertise. Childhood memories, such as the changing seasons, the powerful influence of the stars, sun and rain. The crunch of snow under one’s shoes, the bitter wind on one’s cheeks, and the scratchy woollen balaclava. The cracked and sunburnt earth. The clinking of wineglasses and the joys of grape harvesting. And last but not least, the aroma of the grapes and barrels.
Some things never (or hardly ever) change, and it is this constancy, no doubt, that gives rise to great passions. And it is indeed here in the heart of the vineyards in Eguisheim, on his family estate, that Pierre’s passion was ignited. The only difference being that Pierre is happier when things aren’t standing still...
As far as he is concerned, tradition is not about wearing comfortable slippers and staying put. It’s all about standing barefoot in the living earth to draw on its lifeforce and acquire the energy to move forward.
Pierre is adamant that some things MUST change. Like the diehard habits that harm living things and conforming to tradition to the detriment of flavours.
Pierre is a tightrope walker.
He thrives on thrills and walks the fine yet sturdy line between past and future, its threads made up of know-how and authenticity interwoven with strands of mischievousness, insolence and audacity. He is in search of truth and genuine experiences as a way of putting both the sweetness and sparkle back into life.
