Cantine Palesi

Information

Description
The vineyard is the crown jewel of Masseria Palesi. It spans 14 hectares surrounding the core of the architectural complex and is enclosed by ancient dry stone walls, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The philosophy of the vineyard focuses on nurturing a harmonious relationship with the landscape, giving space to what the land naturally offers without imposing external pressures.

The entire vineyard is managed organically, thanks to the unique characteristics of its ecosystem: the favorable microclimate, the mineral-rich soil, and a good level of organic matter. These features have contributed to obtaining organic certification, as they enable cultivation without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.

Organic farming stems from the understanding that soil is not a lifeless layer but a thriving habitat: billions of microorganisms promote the concentration of nutrients, proper water retention, soil compaction, and many other beneficial factors.

To maintain this balance, our agronomists continuously monitor the soil's microbial activity through precise analyses, and fertilization practices are strictly traditional. Techniques like cover cropping enrich and maintain organic matter by incorporating herbaceous crops into the soil.
