- Description
- In the heart of southern Beaujolais, where the hills are adorned with golden hues and the villages seem frozen in time, lies the Domaine des Prévelières. A stone's throw from the magnificent village of Oingt, the only commune in the Rhône region listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, our estate stretches across hillsides at an altitude of between 400 and 500 metres, offering a unique panorama... and wines that reflect its character: frank, elegant and vibrant.
Here, the vines breathe. The slopes breathe. The terroir expresses itself.
We are fortunate to work with a mosaic of soils that is rare in the region :
deep clays, bright and warm Pierres Dorées limestone rocks, and granite hillsides shaped by time.
This geological richness is our strength. It shapes the personality of our vintages and allows us to dare to offer something unique that has become our signature : a high percentage of white wines made from Chardonnay, in a region where Beaujolais is traditionally known for its reds. Chardonnay finds ideal conditions here : the golden, limestone and sun-drenched soil gives it tension, finesse and brilliance.
But the estate's history does not stop at the Pierres Dorées.
Driven by the search for high-altitude terroirs and pure expressions, we also cultivate vines further north, in the highly prestigious Fleurie appellation. Our cuvée is born on one of the greatest terroirs of the cru: Grille-Midi. A parcel selection located at the very top of the climat, just opposite La Madone, at an altitude of over 400 metres. Here, pink granite outcrops, the wind shapes the berries, and Gamay gains in precision and depth.
An exceptional terroir, chosen above all to remain faithful to the estate's DNA : altitude, freshness, finesse.
Each bottle from the Morel brothers is an invitation to discover what altitude brings to Beaujolais :
- Luminous, chiselled whites, balancing richness and tension.
- Precise reds, carried by elegance and a clear expression of fruit.
- Single vineyard cuvées that tell stories of places, stones and history.
Visiting the estate means tasting another facet of Beaujolais. It means understanding how a terroir, when respected, can shape wines full of life. It means discovering an authentic, living place, passed down from generation to generation and continuing to reinvent itself every year.
If you love sincere wines, if you are looking for new emotions, if you want to experience a break in the heart of one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Rhône...
