DOMAINES A RONCA ET FIGARELLA
Information
- Description
- In 1961, François, the grandfather, was fascinated by the idea of cultivating vines, seeing it as a way to perpetuate history through the art of winemaking, a prospect that was also
appealing for nature. His son, Achille, joined him to create the Figarella estate.
In 2006, it was the turn of Marina, the granddaughter, to take over. After studying
viticulture and oenology, she founded the A Ronca estate by taking over part of the
family vineyards, all cultivated with native Corsican grape varieties. Her work has been recognized numerous times, with several distinctions for the estate's vintages.
Thus, the two estates came together to form the I FIUMI ACQUAVIVA estate, a
testament to the family's commitment to the ancestral art of viticulture. Located in the northwest of Corsica, in the commune of Calenzana, the Acquaviva vineyard peacefully stretches over 39 hectares, between the sea and the mountains:
The vines, ranging from 10 to 65 years old, are carefully arranged on hillsides on soil composed primarily of granite sandstone, producing wines that are mineral, complex, and refreshing.
The grape varieties are typically island-style, consisting of the following: Vermentino, Sciaccarello, and Minustellu.
