- In 2015, after a BTSA in Viticulture and Oenology and a few years of training in various cellar, notably at the Leccia estate in Corsica, I decided to take over an old winery dating back to 1958, which at the time belonged to my uncle Louis.
I started with half a hectare of vines in the Vacqueyras AOP. The estate gradually expanded to reach an area of 11 hectares today, spread over four appellations: AOP Vacqueyras red, rosé, and white, AOP Gigondas red, AOP Côtes du Rhône red, and IGP Vaucluse red and white.
The estate is run organically: no weedkillers or synthetic products, limited sulfur and copper, intelligent plowing, etc. The work in the cellar follows the same logic: indigenous yeasts, no inputs except a little SO2 in limited quantities, and no fining.
The goal is to produce healthy wines that respect the environment and the grapes they produce.
In the vineyard, the clay-limestone terroirs, typical of the Rhône valley, and the old vines allow for beautiful ripeness, well-balanced by the freshness achieved by the deep roots.
My flagship cuvée is the "LOUIS H" Vacqueyras red, a tribute to my uncle Louis Hugues, who founded the winery in 1958.
