Domaine Pierre Vessigaud
Information
- Description
- Family owned and operated for five generations, Domaine Vessigaud is a small wine estate located in the village of Pouilly in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, in the south of Bourgogne in the Mâconnais.
We cultivate 5 hectares of Pouilly-Fuissé, 3 hectares of Mâcon-Fuissé, 1 hectare of Mâcon-Charnay and even 1 hectare of Saint-Amour.
The quality of the wine is not only determined by its taste, but also by the methods used to produce it. This is why we are committed to organic farming practices; our vines do not receive any synthetic herbicides or pesticides.
All our grapes are harvested by hand, then pressed for 5 hours. The juice is then vinified with natural yeasts in 3 to 15-year-old barrels, and also in foudres and cement vats.
Maturation lasts from 11 to 18 months depending on the cuvée.
Our objective is to preserve our terroirs and to manage our vineyard as naturally as possible.
There are no great wines without great soils.
My passion is working in the vineyards. I love my job and I believe that respect for the plant, the soil and the environment should be the guiding principles of a farmer.
With beautiful grapes, the winemaking process "almost" does not need a winemaker.
