Villeneuve (château de)
Information
- Description
- We are now the 10th generation of winegrowers and have been producing fine wines since 1750. We work in a place steeped in history, a 17th-century château overlooking the Loire, surrounded by some of the oldest vines in the appellation, located on the exceptional terroirs of the Côte. Added to this are huge troglodytic cellars dug into the rock where we vinify and age our wines for several years.
All our wines are made from our own Cabernet Franc and Chenin vines, certified organic since 2009, but the process began more than 30 years ago with our father's decision in the early 1990s to stop using chemicals, replant the vineyard, work the soil mechanically and limit yields.
My sister and I are now committed to continuing this legacy by maintaining the rigour and authenticity that characterise us, but shaping it in our own image so that it fits in with the current era.
