Domaine Sainte Marie des Crozes à Douzens is located in the terroir of mount Alaric, the Corbières’ northern outskirts.
Mount Alaric spreads between Carcassonne and Lézignan; it is named after the king of Wisigoths Alaric II. According to the legend, this is where he buried his treasure.

Its mild and elongated shape has designed our horizon, with its limestone pleating where rocky strips and stony terraces alternate. The Alaric terroir benefits from the confluence of Mediterranean and Oceanic climates: it is sunny, dry and warm.
Our vines spread over the mountain slopes on a limestone and clay soil, surrounded by the scrubland, which gives our wines its hints of thyme and hawthorn.
