OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of the AIVB-LR are:
- Representing members
- Defending the members’ interests
- Organizing and knowing the organic wine market
- Organizing support services or consultancy for members
- Promoting wine made from organically grown grapes
The AIVB-LR has three types of activities:
-
Promotion. AIVB-LR organizes several events: the annual “Millésime Bio” (international and professional trade fair) in January, the regional competition "Signature Bio" in spring, the international competition "Challenge Millésime Bio" in autumn, and purchasing missions. It also participates in various trade fairs such as “Biofach” in Nüremberg and “Expression Bio” in Bordeaux.
- Defending and representing the interests of its members in general, and particularly regarding public authorities.
- Technical, vinification, and oenological advice. Advice in vinification is mainly concerned with acquiring and distributing information concerning winemaking techniques, and particularly concerning plant-based protection and hygiene. Oenological advice includes support for setting up the vinification charter, and advice on the promotion of quality in organic farming (particularly HACCP and NOP).
